Cass & Nick Wedding- Part 5!

After a beautiful ceremony, with a few tears from me, we moved onto the reception.  Pictures must have taken a little longer because a few people came out wondering where we all were.  Cassidy's amazing wedding planner brought us appetizers from inside (since we weren't allowed in yet).  They were SO good.  I especially liked one that was this cracker thing and cucumber with some type of cheese on top... AMAZING.

Finally, they introduced the wedding party and we all went in!  My dad made an introduction and thanked everyone for being there.  He passed the mic off to my grandpa who gave an amazing prayer!  (So amazing, that people kept asking if he was a preacher and one guy even asked for the prayer itself).  I'll try to get it from him and post it later.

They served the salad... really good!  Nick's best men gave their speech.  It was funny and they did a great job.  Then came the dinner... which I barely touched because Micah was getting fussy.  It was good, but there was definitely a lot of food.  Katherine and I gave our speeches next.  Cass and Nick cut the cake.  They had their first dance to "Luckiest".  Dad and Cass had their father-daughter dance to "I loved her first" and Nick and his mom danced to "Stand By Me".  Then the party was started!  As I write this, it all seems so quick, but literally, that's how flawless the reception was.  There wasn't much idle time and the food break for speeches and dances were perfectly planned.  They passed cake out to the tables and there were several different kinds:  white with berry filling, chocolate, oreo and marble coconut.  Yes... I tasted all of them!  They were all really good, but I probably liked the plain chocolate the best, it was SUPER moist!

The rest of the night was spent with people dancing (and they NEVER stopped!).  The band only took one break as well and their songs flowed into each other- seriously, the music was on-going and it was really good too!  Caylee LOVED dancing!  She was on the floor forever it seemed.  She was definitely getting tired, but the music kept going and so did she.  Her feet... well, remember how she had no shoes?  Yep, black as could be! GROSS!  Matt ended up taking the kids back around 9ish.  Micah wasn't sleeping with all the noise and I knew Caylee was going to melt soon since she wouldn't take a break. I originally thought they'd stay the whole time, but it probably worked out better this way.  I was (and still am) SO upset that we didn't get one good family picture.  The photographer took some, so I'm hoping those come out well.  Still, we never dress up and I was really, really bummed about that.

They ended the night with a special surprise... FIREWORKS!! They were SO close and really beautiful!  I think they had one of the best receptions I've ever been too.  It was always going strong, no dull points!

They had old doors and in the windows wrote where people were sitting.  Super cute.
GORGEOUS cake!  Some flowers were real, some were fake... so pretty!

Table centerpieces were lanterns with candles and flowers.  All tables were different.

Yes, that is my Grandpa and Aunt giving my son a sucker.  Where do these people come up with these ideas?! They said he wanted it... I took it away :)

Caylee had a child's plate... it looked delicious.  I think Matt ate that as well (she didn't finish it)!
