Some were getting massages, some were swimming, others were just hanging out all day. We had until the rehearsal to do whatever we wanted. Caylee and Micah both slept in til about 7/7:30! Hooray! (I LOVE being on central time zone, they always do so much better!) Then we got everyone dressed and ready and headed to the Villa for breakfast. All the food was over there, so that's another reason I didn't get cottage pics- we were never there!!
Tom cooked us some eggs and my dad cut us up some strawberries. A very good breakfast- one that Caylee loved :) We visited with my dad and Deb for a little while and then the rain cleared up. Once the rain cleared, we decided to head into Branson and explore a little. Neither of us were very impressed, although we never found the "good" shopping where the fountains were. We walked around a little and then headed over to Big Cedar Lodge- the first option and the original reason Cass and Nick wanted to get married in Branson. It was HUGE and very pretty (but I liked where they ended up better)! The guy who owns all the Bass Pro Shops owns Big Cedar (and also recently bought Integrity Hills). It was very hunter/outdoorsman themed. After that we headed back home to have lunch and naps. Naps lasted forever on Friday. The kids were exhausted and it was GREAT!
After naps we showered and dressed for the rehearsal. We got ready super fast because the Lagrones had arrived and we wanted to see them before the rehearsal!! The rehearsal went as well as could be expected. Caylee and I arrived first with Adam and his family. The kids explored the church a little, even "practiced" walking down. Then the tears came and the "daddy, daddy". Caylee only wanted Matt and was not into practicing. She did hold the sign Cass made, but didn't want to share with Adam and when it came down to actually walking, I just carried her.
We all headed back to the Villa for a much needed dinner! Tom and Linda were also celebrating their anniversary that day and threw a great rehearsal dinner, with a bartender included! This is where I failed at pics! Cass had their photographer there, so I hope to get some from her. I didn't even end up eating dinner btw helping with Micah and talking to guests. I'm not sure Matt did either. I did eat amazing peach cobbler and of course had a s'more from the s'more bar! It was super cute! The rest of my family arrived in town for the dinner too! I was SO happy to see Grandpa, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Eric.
After the dinner- which was scattered with people anyways-Cass and Nick had invited all out of town guests to a dessert/drink time. TONS of people showed up. Including Melissa (cousin) and her daughter Lacey- I haven't seen them in FOREVER!! We visited a little, but then decided to get the kids to bed. Saturday was going to be SO long and we were already pushing our luck by staying out late (yes, 9:30 is late for us folks) :)
So, here are the few pics I took of the day. I did take pics, just not the ones I wanted and not good ones...
My dad, Nick, Tom (Nick's dad)... relaxing the day before the wedding. They had cigars, drinks and sandwiches... and ALL got a little (or a lot) sunburned... the sun wasn't out, so I don't think they were expecting it.
Our day downtown Branson and at Big Cedar
This is prob the best pic of Caylee all weekend. She did not want to smile. I even said to Amy "It would have looked cuter if Caylee had smiled." Caylee said "ya". Thanks, Caylee, thanks. The fun of almost 2 yr olds!
I really appreciate whoever took these. I know they are dark, but it's all I have of the actual rehearsal. The sun was at a really bad spot. My dad may have taken some, but then I saw him pass the camera to some girls that came with the groomsmen. It's the best we got!
Lagrone's made it all the way from Texas :)
I was surprised how easily Caylee went to Uncle Eric, but she loved him and thought he was funny! It was their first time to meet!! He and my aunt flew in from LA!
These 2 LOVED the pool. And yes, we let Caylee play and get her dress SOAKED because it was keeping her happy. Honestly, how can you not when the entire party is outside at the pool?!? They may not have wanted to walk down the isle, but they did become buddies at the pool :)
Little Micah did GREAT! He was up way past his normal bedtime, but didn't cry and was super sweet to hold. He loves Grandpa!
These people came all the way from South Carolina! They are Cassidy's college friends and their parent... so sweet!
I told you, I did a TERRIBLE job (I have already planned a post for "must-take pics at weddings" so be watching if you have an upcoming event and you can do better than I did!)! If anyone send me more I'll update this post. I barely saw Cass all night and by the time I did my phone had died and I didn't have my camera. Hopefully her photographer gives us a ton though.
