Doctor, Doctor!

It's already been a busy week of Doctor appts around here!

Yesterday, we took Micah to Columbus for his pediatric GI appt.  I wanted to see a specialist for several reasons.  The biggest reason being that our doctor won't give us the time of day.  Micah is on prevacid and our doctor wouldn't take calls to hear of my concerns.  The nurses they always handed me off to didn't know anything of what was going on and I was getting very frustrated.  For the most part, Micah is a super happy kid.  He is definitely growing and doing everything he's supposed to. However, when it comes to food we can't feed him anything without his reflux flaring and that leads to SUPER fussiness, especially at night.  I wanted to make sure our dr. wasn't missing anything with Micah, given the family history of digestive problems.  It's always good to be established with these kind of specialists anyways.

The new dr. gave us a plan to follow and increased his meds.  I was very happy with this and happy with the follow-up procedures.  We were at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.  It was an ok hospital, I wasn't overly impressed, but then again I've seen the inside of LOTS of hospitals.  The good thing is that this dr. holds office hours in Lima every few months.  We'll be able to follow-up with him a lot closer to home.  Today will begin our new trial run with solid foods!  Hoping the meds help!

After that visit, we headed over to Easton- a very nice shopping area.  We just browsed and enjoyed walking around.  Then we ate at California Pizza Kitchen- yum!!  I was excited :)

Today we had Micah's 6 month check-up, even though he just turned 7 months.  He had his shots... never a fun moment.  He is 28 3/4 in (95% for height)...and... 18lb 15oz (55% for weight).  He's definitely a big boy!  This appointment was fairly quick and easy.

Today we will probably end up in the sprinkler outside because it's supposed to be super hot.  We've already hit the park and the kids were a little hot.

Both kids did great at both offices.  They were well-behaved and very patient!  Overall, Micah is doing really well and since he's already crawling and standing he's ahead of the game :)  (Again, I think this is partly bc he adores Caylee and wants to do what she does).

Caylee was great at entertaining Micah during the waiting part.

He was even given a fancy footband!

Both kids were troopers... especially in Columbus since it was such a drive!
