Iowa - Part 2

Friday night, just as Caylee was being put to sleep I hear... "Brittany, Caylee... waaaaiiiittt!!!!"  It was Cass.  She and Nick had finally arrived and she was running all over the house looking for us to see Caylee before bed.  She didn't even say hi to Dad or Debbie, just "Where's the baby?!"  It was pretty funny and unfortunately she didn't make it.  Caylee had just gone down and there was no way I was waking her up.  Saturday was going to be an extra long day.

Saturday Matt helped Dad finish up yard stuff... mostly cleaning off bugs, spraying bugs and more things bugs.  Cass and I went and got pedicures.  Debbie did her thing for the wedding (hair, make-up etc) and Nick got stuck being the list guy, making sure all was covered.  Caylee hung with the boys most of the day.

Backyard decor....

Pretty flowers...

Full view- not many guests expected- abut 16 total people.

Can you say OCD?  A little bug obsessed!

All about color... any color... lots of color...

Nick and Cass putting the cake together...

Finshed cake... Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein... Cake pops, different, but very tasty.

Caylee was up a little past bedtime, but did great overall!

The point of this pic is what's in Caylee's mouth... yep, a sucker... just to keep her happy for a little while longer.  It definitely worked! She LOVED it! But we did a bath right away... very sticky :)
 Everyone...

Matt, Caylee and I headed out Sunday morning and arrived home about 6pm.  Thanks for having us in Iowa :)

Iowa - Part 1

Driving to Iowa is not the most exciting thing.  We decided to leave after Caylee's dinner.  That way all she'd need is a bottle (which she can hold herself while we are driving) and one stop for a diaper change.  Of course, it would happen that on the highway (still in Lexington) we were at a dead stop with traffic.  So dead that Matt decided he wanted to take a nap while I drove the beginning and he finished the end (he knows I fall asleep too easily at night).  So right there on the highway, we got out of the car, and switched places.

Finally, 8 hours later, we pulled into Dad's house! It was 2am for us, just 1am there.  They were nice and took us right to our room so we could get to sleep, but someone decided that she had already slept on the trip up and refused to sleep.  So Matt stayed up another 2 hours with her and played before they both crashed on the couch!  He's so good!

Friday, we hung around the house and did some wedding preps for Debbie.  Then Dad took us to eat at the World's Largest TruckStop.  Turns out, it's not anymore, but they have the name patented.

Growing up, we've eaten at lots of truckstops/gas stations with dad.  This was by far the nicest!  They even had a dentist offce inside and a movie theater!  Not much in Iowa, but this truckstop had it all!

Hanging out in the cab....

 Hanging with Daddy watching animals...

All he did all weekend... spray for bugs... spray for bugs....

Being extra careful around Rosie, the dog.

Did not let Caylee pet Lolly the goat... she was very big and likes to head-butt.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well, it's official!  We're moving north again... northern Ohio!  I'll blog all about that later, but with this moves comes a SUPER busy time for us.  This particular week is very busy with me having Sherry in town, us all going to Iowa for the weekend and then moving on Tuesday!    I'll have tons to write about by the time all is said and done, but first things first....

Sherry's visit!!  Yea!  She was planning on coming a week ago, but flights weren't looking good, so we went with this week instead.  I was able to get a few boxes packed (way less than what Matt would have liked probably, but I was tired).  Anyways, we had a great visit!  Started off by shopping... Caylee is so spoiled by my mom and Sherry constantly getting her cute outfits!  This time she even got a super cute, red, puff snow coat! (To be revealed this winter!)  The next day we headed out to Shaker Village.  I thought it was a working Amish town, but it really felt more like an Amish amusement park. We walked around a little, but it was sooo empty, so we headed back.  Although the drive was very pretty!  I had never seen those parts of Kentucky and it was gorgeous!  Here are a few pics from the town....

The next day we had to do a photo shoot for Caylee.  I think some 200+ pics were taken, but these were the best!

Love this because she is so bright and the barn looks so cool behind her...

So pretty and such blue eyes!!!

Funny baby! Love her goofy faces!

Steps of the log cabin up at the big house, Matt said we could go because we're moving and it doesn't matter :)  Woohoo!

Disregard the fact that I have on a t-shirt and my hair is a disaster, I didn't plan on being in any pics.

We had a great time with Sherry this week and wrapped up a fun week in Kentucky!  Thanks for visiting, can't wait to come down there soon! :)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Today was Matt's 1st Father's Day!  I made him breakfast and Caylee is working on saying "dada", I'd say that's pretty good :)
I also bought him a present with this picture on it...

The present was a keychain with this pic.  I realize now, that is a little gay... however, my thought was that he doesn't have an office and he doesn't use a real wallet, so he needed something with her pic on it.  Since his truck is his office it just made sense to me.  The whole thing turned at pretty girly, but oh well! The thought and idea was cute, but the present didn't turn out too good.  It's ok, it's a cute picture anyways!

Matt is a great dad! Caylee LOVES seeing him come home, but my favorite part is nighttime.  I'll be giving Caylee a bottle and she'll be just about passed out- seriously, it's amazing she's still drinking it by that time! Anyways, Matt comes in to read the bible and her eyes open and she just smiles and talks to him.  So sweet from being completely asleep, to being fully awake because he's in the room!

Caylee loves her daddy and he loves her! Thanks Matt for being an amazing Husband and Dad! We love you!!!

First Swim!

Tonight we went swimming at Ivy Green Farm.  It's a farm that one of the doctor's owns with his wife and kid.  They have several horses, a nice barn and even better.... a SWIMMING pool!!  We broke it in for them tonight :)

Their 3 year old wanted to stay with us, but they had work to do so we had the pool to ourselves.  Although, they do have their 3 yr old in swim lessons (since 8 months), but it's a special type of swim lesson... it teaches kids to float/swim/float/swim and prepares them for chances of falling in, that way they know what to do.  It's VERY cool and he's a great swimmer which makes the technique even better... definitely something I'll be checking into.

Anyways... here is Caylee's first swim time :)

She did a little better in the raft, but then got too comfortable and almost fell in :)

New Toy

Matt decided that Caylee needed a walker.  We have a big one, but it's kind of more stationary than the smaller ones (probably has some other name too)... anyways, she won't crawl yet and his thought was that if she learns to use her legs she'll be crawling in no time.  He's probably right, so he got her a walker...

In she goes! (And yes, she has sweats on and Matt has a long sleeve shirt and vest... the high that day was only 55! And it's JUNE!)

Not sure what to do from here... it definitely had less to entertain her than the other one does

It was kind of a let down for Matt the first day, but she's getting better... only goes backwards, but does enjoy a little more freedom to see the dogs.

New Ride...

I know, it's been a while since a post (longer than my normal 1-2 days!)

Here is a pic of Caylee's new stroller.  This is SO much lighter, easy to store in the car and easy to manuever through stores.... we still use the big one for walks because it is WAY better, but this is nice to have for those "I didn't plan on stopping and don't want to carry her through the entire store" trips.

Also, still no crawling, but moving around a TON and rolling lots more now.  Her 2nd tooth popped through this past Monday- June 4!  Woohoo!  :)  She's been sleeping on her stomach quite a bit too... she puts herself there, then goes back and forth throughout the night... she's a LIGHT sleeper.

We have a BUSY few weeks coming up, so it'll be a while,  I'll fill yall in on the happenings when I can! :)
