Every year people throw tons of parties at Christmastime. I have always enjoyed going to parties, some more than others, but still... it's nice to visit with people in a casual environment. I imagine we'll be going to Christmas parties every year, so it has to be included in our traditions.
This year, we just had one to go to.... Matt's work party. They had the group go to the local bowling alley- kids were invited too. At first, I was skeptical about having it at a bowling alley, but it turned out to be lots of fun... minus the fact that I knew maybe 2 people there! Of course, having Caylee with us makes it so much easier because everyone wants to play/talk to her anyways :)
I didn't bowl, but I really wanted to! The techs bowled against the dr's in a little friendly competition... Dr's won! Caylee wanted to bowl SO badly... some of the older kids (4-8yr olds) were bowling and she really wanted to play with them. I kept trying to get her to play with the little boy that was her age, but she didn't want to. Finally, Ms. Ruth (secretary) gave Caylee a small bouncy ball, which she LOVED. That kept her entertained for at least an hour.
Here are some pics of the evening...
She was the hit of the party at the beginning bc she walked around saying "hi" to everyone and dancing. Very funny :) Check out her new tennis shoes too!!! Doesn't she look SO grown up, with jeans and tennis shoes?!? I was amazed... she is definitely growing super fast :)
Found the bowling balls....
Watching anxiously as Daddy bowled!
Matt and his boss... there were 3 other small animal dr's there as well.
Really wanting to bowl with the big kids....
Finally, a small ball and Ms. Ruth to entertain her! She was cracking up and loved playing...
All tuckered out once the "glow bowl" lights came on (8:45pm)...
Trying to get comfy to lie down and watch them finish up another game...
We were there about 3 hours and she did AMAZING! No fussing, lots of smiles for people and very well-behaved as far as not going where we told her not to. We are very lucky....it was way past her bedtime too....
It was a fun Christmas party, I'm sure we'll have many more Christmas parties in years to come!
