Weekly Update

Ok.. I know I said I wouldn't do these all the time, but I guess I'll do them when I want to get pics off my phone and save stuff :) 

Last week.....

Caylee helped Matt wash cars... thankfully, it was almost 50 outside!

Caylee got her first "professional" haircut.... TERRIBLE! This picture isn't awful, but there are some you can really see how much they botched it.  I've been playing with it this week and if I use some hairspray and a bow I can still make it look cute, but I will NEVER take her there again!!!!

Hanging out with me.... we started this guy on Soy formula AND heartburn meds this week.... hoping they work.  He gets SO upset when we feed him and spits up SO much.  I FINALLY told the nurse that I wanted the doctor to get us something.  These nurses have tried to give me all these home remedies and I was tired of it and tired of him being uncomfortable.  We really hope these work :)

The weather turned cold AGAIN... so we bundled up on the 1 sunny day we had and headed for a short walk.... can't go too far because it is so cold, but just a little sunshine made my day better :)

Weekly Events...

I won't do this every week, because our life is not super exciting... however, I had quite a few pics on my phone from this week and wanted to get them on the blog...

So.. here was what we did this week!


LOTS of Mommy and Caylee time...

Micah usually watched and we tried to play with him too....

Baths are a necessity when he spits up so much, but at least he wasn't screaming for this one.. it was really warm water :)

3 Successful days of BOTH kids napping at the same time!!  Still trying to figure out Micah's nap schedule, but I am trying to get one of his naps when Caylee goes down too...

First trip to the store... Caylee rides in the basket now that Micah's carrier has the front part... I'm not sure I can get too many things at once and may try to wait until Saturdays when Matt can help or keep them at home... we'll see.

Caylee and I took a walk in the snow.. (hopefully the last snow for the year!)

My attempt at a snowman became an ice chair instead... fit for a princess!

First smile caught on camera!  Yes, it's a sleeping smile, but that means we're not far off from awake smiles!

LOTS of sweet moments between these two... just glad I can catch some of them :)

Lunch visit from Great Aunt LeeAnn!  We had such a great time :)

That about wraps up our week... again, we stay indoors so much, but I definitely want to try to catch some of what we do and the sweet moments.  It gets frustrating (and boring) being inside so much and being on our own, but I also want to remember the many, many good times we do have! **Plus, I want to document Micah's first year as much as I did with Caylee! I like things fair and even :)

Last Snow... we hope!

Well, it's March 6th and we just had another 8 or so inches of snow dumped on us!  It's pretty to wake up to, but no fun when you can't get out of your driveway.  (Matt could bc he has 4-wheel drive)  So, we took advantage of a not so windy/semi-sunny/snowy day and took a few last (we hope) winter pics! 

Don't worry, she is sitting on the driveway part that melted... not the snow...

I wish I had photoshop to make her eyes blue... they look SO blue with her gray hat and the white snow in the background!

Not too thrilled with me here...

This should be a magazine shot for clothes... I am biased though...

 

 

And yes.... I even had Micah out in it... but no worries, we were out only about 3 minutes (literally!)-- so I didn't really get the picture I wanted, but oh well...

 

AND... he was in a basket, not even touching the snow- all nice and warm in blankets, his vest and his hat (rolled up bc it was a little big still)...  

I thought he might open his eyes, but that didn't happen...

 Micah is 1 month today!  He's doing great sleeping and will usually give us a good stretch of 4-5hrs at least once during the night.  He even sleeps in his crib! By his height you can see that he's really long!  We've moved out of newborn clothes, into 0-3 months, but they swim on his skinny body :)  He's eating great- about every 2-3 hrs during the day and finally doing much better on the formula.  Micah hasn't started smiling yet, but hopefully will in the next few weeks. 

 

I took pictures using Matt's hat!  It'll be fun to see him wear it one day :)

Weekend Visitors

This past weekend we had our last bit of overnight company... probably for a few months at least!  It will be nice to get back into a routine, but I enjoyed having my family up to visit with me these past few weeks... definitely made the days better. 

This past weekend we had my dad, Debbie, Cass and Nick up to visit.  The weekend was ok, but we stayed indoors mostly.  The rodeo Matt had found to go to didn't work out-- apparently, the whole town tries to go and there was standing room only!  We did get to play some games and Caylee got LOTS of playtime, especially with Aunt Cassidy :)

**Sidenote: Our house is so cold, so I usually have a blanket wrapped around me. :)

 

3 Weeks!

Micah is 3 weeks old now!  I'm SO glad time is going by quickly with the help of friends and family.  Yes, that sounds weird, but the first month has never been my favorite time.  However, this week we luckily figured out some new formula that is helping Micah tremendously!  He's sleeping better and less fussy meaning that he can spend some time awake without screaming... that has been very nice! 
We are even on a good streak of him napping when Caylee does- great for me to get some extra rest too!  He's been doing well at night- typical baby stuff waking about 1-2 times and we usually have him in bed between 9 and 10. 

Caylee and I have had the head cold that Matt had, so hopefully it skips Micah and he will feel fine this upcoming week for the visit of the rest of my family.  Right now, Caylee and I are enjoying some alone time and it's been nice to get back into some sort of routine.... although I haven't tried to leave the house alone with both kids yet, that will come... :)


He looks like such an old man here! Doing well lifting his head though....

Had to wear a warm hat to head to the mall as a family!  I needed out of the house and to walk around, but it's so cold, so off to the mall we all went...

 

 

On our mall trip, Caylee got to ride this!  First time she has ever done a "quarter" ride... loved it!  She wanted "more, more", but we were out of quarters... plus it's like 75 cents now, not just 25! Rip off, but she enjoyed it...
